About Us

Our line of Murphys come from Drishanebeg, Co. Cork, Ireland, just outside of Skibbereen.

My great grandfather, Patrick, and grandmother, Catherine, settled in San Francisco, California and raised their famliy: Julia (died as infant), Mary, Maurice, Julia, Jerry, John, Ella, Joseph, Vincent, Catherine, Margaret.

My grandfather Maurice met and married Alice Seibel. They had two sons: Thomas and Phillip.

Thomas, my dad, met Elaine Brooks, my mom, at UC Santa Cruz and that is where I come in. I am the eldest of 5 children: Sean, Brian, Colleen, Megan, and Erin. We grew up in the San Francisco East Bay in Lafayette, California.

I met my wife, Blythe Thomas, in drama class at Diablo Valley College. We transferred to Santa Clara University and studied acting. After graduating, we got married in 1997. We now live in San Jose, California with our precocious daughter, Fiona, and our vivacious son, Cian.
